Boston City Hall staffers arrested in alleged domestic incident

Two City Hall staffers including Boston s chief of staff for the office of police accountability have been arrested on charges related to an alleged domestic assault according to court records Marwa Khudaynazar and Chulan Huang were arrested after police responded early Thursday to an apartment on Hudson Street in the city s Chinatown neighborhood Marwa Khudaynazar Chief of Staff at the Office of Police Accountability Boston gov photo Khudaynazar who runs the city s police accountability office was charged with assault and battery on a police officer and assault on a household member Huang a neighborhood business manager for the city s office of Economic Opportunity and Inclusion according to the city s website was charged with assault and battery on a household member Both entered not guilty pleas during arraignments at Boston Municipal Court Thursday Chulan Huang Boston gov photo We both work for the city of Boston we both work for the mayor s office Khudaynazar reported responding officers according to the police document Boston Mayor Michelle Wu s office has not responded to questions from the Herald Boston Police acknowledged questions from the Herald but announced it was reviewing the affair and would follow up later According to the police analysis officers were called to Huang s apartment by Khudaynazar who disclosed Huang took her car and phone and took off Upon arrival officers heard shouting as they approached the door Police detected an open door and knocked and reported their presence Inside they saw a shirtless man they later identified as Huang and Khudaynazar who according to police was yelling please let me go Police separated the pair and saw multiple bite marks on the man s chest and arms according to the police statement Speaking with police Huang reported officers She went on a date with my boss Police speaking with Khudaynazar explained she communicated them that Huang had in fact cheated on her and that she went on a date with her boss When he took her phone and car keys she called but he returned before police arrived Police described Khudaynazar as smelling of alcohol and slurring her words during the encounter according to the police description She narrated police that Huang was holding onto her wrists and that she bit him in self defense The pair was arraigned at Boston Municipal Court s Central division and published on personal recognizance They are due back in court July Progressing
